Configuring Citrix

To ensure the Wacom Virtual Channel Component works correctly, it must be allowed through the user's Citrix policy for the application that uses it. This can be done using one of two approaches.

Allow all channels​

The simplest approach is to disable the Virtual channel allow list policy, which allows any virtual channel to be opened within a given ICA session:

  1. In Citrix Studio, go to Policies.
  2. Select the VirtualChannel policy, then open its Settings.
  3. Edit the Virtual channel allow list setting and set it to Disabled.

This approach is not recommended for production environments. It is useful for initial testing, to verify connectivity by enabling all virtual channels to communicate without restriction.

Enable a restricted allow list​

For a more secure, production-ready setup, enable the Virtual channel allow list policy and add the Wacom channel to it explicitly. If virtual channels are locked down this way, the allow list must include the Wacom dynamic channel by its name:

  • WacomSignatureCapture is both the dynamic channel name and the name of the virtual channel.
  • The names of the processes, and the full paths used to open WacomSignatureCapture on the VDA (Virtual Delivery Agent) machine, are application-dependent.
  • These process names and paths vary depending on the specific integration in use.
